Hi friends! Well this has been a busy week indeed! I won't go into all the details!
I wanted to share with you an awesome packet I purchased on Tpt from Babbling Abby!
This packet is well worth the cost! I have been using several of the activities in my guided reading groups! We will be doing our district assessments in January. We assess in four areas for fluency: letter names, letter sounds, phoneme segmentation, and nonsense words. We use Aims Web- similar to the Dibels! Here are some picture of the activities I have been using from the packet in my guided reading groups!
One of the reasons I love this packet so much is that you can use each activity in multiple ways. Also, after introducing the activity in guided reading I am placing it into our literacy centers!
This photo shows students writing CVC words.
This game is called Keepin' it real! Students must manipulate the nonsense word into a real word!
This is a nonsense/real word sort.
My below level group have been using these missing CVC sound boards! They are great as well!

Along, with letter names/sounds fluency and nonsense words we've been working on phoneme segmentation! Our benchmark test asks very few CVC words which the kids are great at stretching out. Instead, the test is filled with big, strange words like; winds, few, you, etc! I made these cards to get the kiddos used to stretching our bigger words! Click the photo to grab the freebie!
Have a great Friday!
